Privacy & Safety

Your privacy is part of the experience.

Meeting someone new should not require putting your personal life on display. Privyria is built around the belief that people should have meaningful control over their identity, visibility, information, and interactions.

From how profiles are discovered to how conversations are handled, privacy and safety are considered part of the product — not features added afterward.

Private by design. Trusted by intention.

Built to protect you, by default

  • Verified Members

Verification helps members know they are interacting with genuine people.

  • Private Communication

Privyria is designed so phone numbers and email addresses aren’t required to be shared with others.

  • Display Name Privacy

Use a first name or any chosen display name without putting your full identity on display.

  • Hidden by default

New galleries start locked. Nothing beyond your main photo is public unless you say so.

  • Discreet billing

Charges read as a neutral services descriptor — never “Privyria” on a statement.

  • Quiet notifications

Message previews are off by default. A lock screen shows activity, not content.

  • Neutral email

Account mail arrives from a plain sender name that reveals nothing.

  • More to Come

Privacy should keep getting better. More privacy and safety features are on the way.

Your Privacy, Your Control

  • Hidden Photos

Keep your gallery locked and release it to one person at a time. Revoke access whenever you like.

  • Per-block visibility

Each part of your profile is public or hidden until matched — your choice, block by block.

  • Private Mode

Step out of discovery entirely while keeping your existing conversations.

  • Panic hibernate

Hide everything in one tap. Nothing is deleted, and it’s reversible the moment you’re ready.

  • Conversation archiving

Move threads out of sight on a shared device without ending them.

  • Message deletion

Remove a message you regret, with a clear window and a clear outcome.

Verification & Trust

A real person checks every member

Verification is manual on purpose. Three selfie angles are compared for the same real face, natural lighting shifts, and any sign of a screen, a stock photo, or a generated image.

  • Selfie verification is required for everyone
  • Government-ID verification is optional and earns a badge
  • Documents are reviewed once, then deleted — only the badge remains
  • Front
  • Left
  • Right

Staying Safe Online

Protect your privacy before you connect

Meeting someone online can be exciting. It can also make it easy to reveal more about yourself than you intended. A few simple habits can make a significant difference.

You don’t need to be suspicious of everyone you meet. You simply need to give trust the time it deserves.

Fourteen habits worth knowing. Tap any one to read it in full.

01Keep personal details personalPrivacy

Your profile doesn’t need to tell someone everything about your life. Avoid publicly sharing information such as:

Your home address
Exact workplace or office location
Personal phone number
Personal email address
Financial information
Government identification
Daily routines or predictable schedules
Information that could reveal where you live

Share personal details gradually, when you’ve developed enough trust to feel comfortable doing so.

Being open doesn’t mean being exposed.

02Think carefully about the photos you sharePrivacy

Photos can reveal more than your appearance. A photograph may unintentionally show:

Your home or neighborhood
Your workplace
Your vehicle or license plate
Your children’s school
Personal documents
Locations you frequently visit

Before uploading a photo, take a moment to look at the background.

Could someone identify where I am, or learn something about my private life from this image?

03Don’t use your dating profile as a map to your lifePrivacy

Small details can become identifying when combined. Your profession, neighborhood, university, favorite restaurant, gym, social media account, and daily routine may seem harmless individually. Together, they can make you surprisingly easy to identify.

You don’t need to reveal everything at once. Leave something to discover later.

04Be careful when moving the conversation elsewherePressure

Privyria is designed around keeping communication within the platform without requiring members to expose their personal phone numbers or email addresses. If someone quickly pressures you to move to another messaging service, social network, or private channel, slow down.

You should never feel obligated to provide your personal contact information simply because someone asks.

Moving off-platform isn’t automatically a warning sign. Pressure to move off-platform immediately can be.

05Don’t send money because someone asksMoney

Be particularly cautious if someone you’ve recently met online asks you to:

Send money
Pay an unexpected expense
Buy gift cards
Provide banking information
Share credit card details
Receive or transfer money on their behalf
Invest in something
Help with an emergency

A convincing story is still only a story until you can independently verify it. Never allow attraction, sympathy, or pressure to override your financial judgment.

Never send money simply because someone made you feel responsible for them.

06Watch for pressure and manipulationPressure

Pay attention to how someone responds when you establish a boundary. A respectful person can accept “I’m not comfortable sharing that yet.” Be cautious if someone repeatedly:

Pressures you for private information
Becomes angry when you say no
Attempts to isolate you from others
Rushes emotional intimacy
Makes promises that seem too good to be true
Uses guilt to get what they want
Insists you keep the relationship secret

How someone responds to your boundaries tells you a lot about them.

07Don’t let a verified profile replace your judgmentJudgment

Verification can help establish authenticity, but it isn’t a guarantee that someone is trustworthy, compatible, or safe. A verified person can still behave badly.

Privyria’s trust model is designed to reduce uncertainty through verification, authenticity signals, activity information, and profile quality — not to tell you whom you should trust.

Use verification as one trust signal, not as a substitute for your own judgment.

08Look for consistencyJudgment

People reveal themselves through patterns. Pay attention to whether someone’s:

Profile matches what they tell you
Stories remain consistent
Communication feels natural
Behavior matches their promises
Expectations remain clear
Respect for your boundaries stays consistent

You don’t need to investigate every detail. Simply notice when things don’t add up.

Trust is built through consistent behavior.

09Be cautious with links, files, and requests for sensitive informationSecurity

Don’t open suspicious links or files sent by someone you barely know. Never provide:

Passwords
One-time passwords
Verification codes
Banking credentials
Security questions
Government identification

No genuine connection should require you to compromise the security of your accounts.

A verification code is meant for you — not for someone asking you to send it to them.

10Protect your Privyria accountSecurity

Your account is part of your privacy. Use a strong, unique password and protect the email account associated with your Privyria account as well. Never share your password or authentication codes with another person.

If you believe someone has gained access to your account, take action immediately and contact Privyria through the appropriate support channels.

11Consider a video conversation before meetingMeeting

A video conversation can be a useful additional step before deciding to meet someone in person. It gives both people an opportunity to interact face-to-face and confirm that the person matches the identity and personality presented online.

It isn’t foolproof. Someone can still misrepresent themselves.

Sometimes a few minutes face-to-face can reveal more than weeks of messaging.

12Don’t ignore your instinctsJudgment

You don’t need a courtroom’s worth of evidence to decide that you don’t want to continue talking to someone. If something feels inconsistent, uncomfortable, rushed, or simply wrong, you’re allowed to step away.

You don’t owe someone an explanation for protecting your own boundaries.

If you don’t feel comfortable, you don’t have to continue.

13Block when you want the interaction to endControl

You don’t have to keep responding to someone simply because you started a conversation. If someone becomes disrespectful, persistent, inappropriate, or makes you uncomfortable, you can stop engaging and use the platform’s blocking tools.

You are allowed to leave a conversation.

14Report behavior that crosses the lineControl

If someone violates Privyria’s rules, behaves abusively, attempts to scam you, or makes you feel unsafe, report them. You don’t need to confront the person yourself.

Reporting isn’t about getting someone in trouble unnecessarily. It’s about helping prevent harmful behavior from affecting someone else.

A Little Caution Goes a Long Way

Online dating doesn’t have to feel like an investigation. You can be open. You can enjoy meeting someone new. You can be generous with your time and attention. Just remember that trust doesn’t have to be given all at once — let someone earn it through consistency, respect, and behavior.

Be open to connection. Stay in control of your privacy.

  • Step back
  • Stop replying
  • Block
  • Report
  • Walk away

Your comfort and safety come first.

Reporting, Blocking & Account Control

  • Report

Pick a reason, add detail if you want. Reports are anonymous — the other person is never told who filed one.

  • Block & disappear

Mutual and silent. They vanish from your view, you vanish from theirs, and no notice is ever sent.

  • Delete your account

Request permanent deletion at any time. Membership ends immediately; your profile, photos and conversations are removed.
